Sewing Workshop: Upcycled Zippered Pouch
Sunday, August 23
1:00pm - 2:00pm
Intended for adults and seniors.
Hosted at the Makerspace @ McLean Branch.
Advanced registration required.
Give new life to old textiles in this free, hands-on sewing workshop! Learn how to transform reclaimed fabrics into a practical zippered pouch while exploring basic sewing and zipper installation techniques. Participants will work with repurposed materials such as denim, dress shirts, sweatshirts, and other woven fabrics to create a unique pouch that's both functional and sustainable.
This event is hosted by The Green Neighbours Circular Project in partnership with Ajax Public Library.
The Green Neighbours Circular Project promotes sustainability and waste reduction by keeping good materials out of landfills and in the hands of people who will use and appreciate them. Through repair, reuse, and hands-on learning opportunities, the project encourages the community to fix what they love, reimagine what they no longer need, build practical skills, and discover that sustainability can be creative, accessible, and fun.
