Curious about starting your own plants from seed? Join us for a fun, hands-on workshop where you’ll learn how to make a seed snail (also known as a seed roll) — a simple, space-saving way to start seeds at home.
Materials generously provided and workshop hosted by the Green Neighbours Circular Project and the Green Bean Collective, with support from the Town of Ajax Seed Library.
9:30–11 a.m. - Guided Seed Snail Workshop (Registration required to participate.)
11–11:30 a.m. - Seed Exchange + Advice Tables (Drop-in; no registration required. Bring seeds to trade, donate extras, or just come browse and take something new home to grow!)
The Green Neighbours Circular Project promotes sustainability and waste reduction by keeping the good stuff out of landfills and into the hands of people who’ll love them. Through repair, reuse, and hands-on learning opportunities, they encourage the community to bring what they don’t need, fix what they love, build new skills, and help make sustainability a little more fun.
The Green Bean Collective is a people-powered effort in Durham Region. We rescue and redistribute surplus food, and create welcoming spaces for people to gather, learn, and connect. In building a reciprocal local economy where people exchange time and skills instead of money, we are strengthening networks of care and food security in our region.
