Ajax Archives: Mending Workshop
Thursday, September 24
1:00pm - 2:30pm
Main Branch
Program Room
Appropriate for adults and seniors.
Hosted at Main Branch.
Drop-in.
During World War 2, many materials were in short supply, which meant you didn’t get rid of clothing for something as simple as a hole or tear—you mended things! Come learn how to hand sew a simple patch with the Archives Services Librarian and chat about the many ways that the early residents of Ajax learned how to make do with what they had. Tools and supplies will be provided.
Participants are encouraged to bring a clean item of clothing that they would like to mend, but samples will also be available for practicing.
Main Branch
Opened in 2003
