Poor mental health affects everyone, yet many boys and men face unique barriers to recognizing their struggles, expressing their emotions, and seeking support. This engaging presentation explores the stigma surrounding the mental health of boys and men and the harmful social and cultural expectations that boys and men face. Participants will examine the impact of mental health challenges on boys and men in Canada through current statistics, learn to recognize common signs and symptoms, and develop practical skills for starting supportive conversations. Together, we can break the silence, remove stigma, and create environments where boys and men feel safe to speak openly, seek help, and thrive.
Presented in partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association and the Durham Region Health Department.
